Ben attended Temple University, majoring in Entrepreneurship. It was around this time when Ben founded After5 Studios as a way to provide high quality and low budget recording to the artists in the Germantown and Mount Airy Community. Through After5 Studios, Ben was able to collaborate with such artists as: Theodore Grams, Asaad & Chill Moody.
In early 2015, two major events lead to the further development of Ben’s musical career. First was his introduction to Philadelphia music ambassador Chill Moody and his nicethingsMUSIC label. 2nd was the start of Ben’s involvement with music incubator RECPhilly. Both partnerships have allowed Ben to progress as an Engineer, exposing him to many different clients and allowing him to take full part in the musical development of artists.
In 2016, Ben started interning at Studio Breed, one of the top studios in Philadelphia. He rose quickly through the ranks, progressing from intern to the main staff engineer in a few months. At Studio Breed, Ben has had the opportunity to work with Major label clients such as: Jazmine Sullivan, TY Dolla $ign, Brian McKnight, Norman Hutchins, and more.
Currently, Ben is working as the main engineer for both RECPhilly as well as Studio Breed. Along with music, Ben also edits podcasts for iHeart Media and WeWork’s Art of the Hustle. He also serves on the board of indie label nicethingsMUSIC as well as taking a larger role in the Philadelphia Chapter of the Recording Academy. Ben has a strong passion for sharing his love of audio engineering with others and has spent time teaching high school students at the Academy at Palumbo in South Philadelphia as well as hosting lectures and private lessons.
